Your wedding day is one of the most photographed days of your life — and your makeup needs to be perfect from morning to last dance. After years of working with brides across Manchester, here are the five things I wish every bride knew before sitting in the makeup chair.
1. Book Your Trial Early
A makeup trial is not optional — it’s essential. Your trial is where we experiment with your look, test products on your skin, and make sure everything is exactly right before the big day. Book your trial at least 4–6 weeks before your wedding.
2. Come With a Clean, Moisturised Face
Arrive at your appointment with no makeup on and well-moisturised skin. Hydrated skin holds makeup better, lasts longer, and gives a much more flawless finish.
3. Bring Your Inspiration
Screenshots, Pinterest boards, magazine cutouts — bring anything that captures the vibe you’re going for. The more reference points you bring, the easier it is to build your perfect look.
4. Think About Your Dress and Theme
Your makeup should complement your overall look — dress, hair, venue, and theme all play a role. A heavily embellished gown might call for a softer face, while a minimalist dress can carry a bolder lip.
5. Secure Your Date With a Deposit
Bridal dates — especially Saturdays — fill up very quickly. Once you’ve had your trial and you’re happy, secure your wedding date with your deposit immediately.
